The head of the Digital Agency for Public Innovation (ADIP), José Antonio Peña Merino, commented to Political Animal that there is no reason to be alarmed if such a message is received.

The official explained that there are 150 doctors in locatel and 1,500 public servants who are carrying out the location of these positive cases through calls. “Whoever calls you from that number is a doctor, a locatel server or a public servant who is at home because of the contingency,” he said.
According to Merino, the idea is that this message be sent to all people in the course of today and tomorrow. “If we are going to start resuming activities, the only alternative we have is to be able to identify positive contact cases very quickly and stop contagion chains,” he said.
How does the program work?
On June 22, the Head of Government Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo stressed that the objective of the program is to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and guarantee the health of the population during the New Normality.
The Program for Detection, Protection and Protection of Cases COVID-19 and its Contacts consists of five axes: house-to-house information campaign; protocol of early attention and identification of symptoms; Strengthening of the Locatel System and SMS text message; detection of positive cases and their contacts; as well as delivery of COVID-19 Medical Kit and Food Support.

Once the people and their possible contagions have been identified, they will be channeled to one of the 117 health centers of the local Ministry of Health (Sedesa) so that the COVID-19 test can be performed.
The capital government reported that from June 10 to 22, 6 thousand 632 people with the disease had been contacted, identified 103 positive cases from their contacts and carried out more than 14 thousand PCR tests with the help of Locatel.
