A design inherited from the Pro range
Unlike the 2020 model, the 2022 MacBook Air introduces a new design. It is inspired by the Pro models released in 2021, with reduced bezels around the screen, the appearance of a notch, as well as a new speaker system hidden in the hinge… And also the disappearance of the “MacBook Air” label, which was found on previous versions, under the screen.
The finishes remain as neat as ever, with the very good keyboard with backlit keys, as well as the large comfortable trackpad. In terms of display, we are entitled to a simple 60 Hz IPS LCD screen. Fortunately, it is a very pleasant panel to look at, of excellent quality with good brightness, high definition (2,560 x 1,664 pixels) and ideal color calibration. Be careful of sun reflections, however, because the screen is rather shiny.
A quiet and efficient machine for easy work
While the Air range now features an M3 chip, the 2022 MacBook Air with the M2 chip (with 8 GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD) still offers great performance.’ultrabook turns on instantly, software opens quickly, including demanding applications, and will run smoothly and silently, although the Pro version is a little more comfortable in this last area.
Finally, in most scenarios, the battery life of the MacBook Air M2 is very impressive. It will accompany you for hours without ever losing fluidity. During our test, we still noticed a slightly significant drop in battery life when the MacBook starts to heat up after intensive use (heavy applications, several open tabs, etc.). As for recharging, count 1 to 2 hours depending on the power of the charger.
