Did the Press Exaggerate? A Taxi Driver’s Account of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Dramatic Escape in New York.

The family of Prince Harry and his wife, Megan Markle, have become the focus of the world’s attention in recent years, due to the many dramas that followed the details of their lives while they were with the British royal family, and after their separation from them and the issuance of Prince Harry’s memoirs and her documentary, but the recent drama revealed by the duo was subjecting them to persecution. In New York, it is similar to what Princess Diana was exposed to and caused her death.

But what the youngest son of King Charles did not expect was that the press would reach the taxi driver who took him in that incident for 10 minutes, and that the latter would declare that the whole thing was exaggerated.

Sukharn Singh told the BBC that the prince and his wife rode with him from a privately guarded courtyard in midtown Manhattan as they sought to get away from the paparazzi, and were visibly nervous during the short trip.

It is remarkable that the driver did not describe his driving in such a short period of time as a dangerous chase by photographers, and indicated that the matter began after a garbage truck stopped them, so that suddenly press photographers appeared and started taking pictures.

He added that Harry and Megan were about to continue to their destination, but the security guard asked to return to the area.

“They were on edge, I think they’ve been chasing all day or something. They were on edge, but the security officer took over,” Suchcharn said.

As for the emir’s spokesperson’s statement, the driver said, “I don’t think that’s true. I think it’s all exaggerated and stuff like that. Don’t read too much about it.”

But he added, “This must have happened before getting into the taxi,” indicating that the paparazzi were not aggressive while he was driving, but were behind him and kept their distance.

The driver noted that New York City is the safest place. Police stations, cops everywhere, there is no need to be afraid there.

When asked about the prince and his wife, Suchcharn said that they were nice people, and that after they reached their destination, they told him: “We were pleased to meet you.”

He revealed that Prince Harry asked him for his name and that the security official paid him a 10-minute trip of $50.

The taxi driver made an important statement to the Washington Post, where he said that he did not consider what happened as a chase, and I never felt that I was in danger.
