During the second final of the Eurovision Song Contest, the points of the jury members of 6 countries would have been tampered with. That was announced by the organizer European Broadcasting Union (EBU) on Saturday evening. According to VRT expert juries of the countries involved would have made agreements with each other.

It was the company coordinating the voting procedure that noticed the miscount. According to the VRT, the six countries involved have made agreements about awarding points, which the public broadcaster learned from “a good source”. The EBU would therefore have decided to recalculate the points of those six countries. This was not only the case for the second semi-final (in which Belgium also participated), but also for the grand final.

According to the website songfestival.be, the points of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania and San Marino were changed.

“The EBU takes any suspicious attempt to manipulate the vote in the Eurovision Song Contest very seriously and reserves the right to remove such votes, regardless of whether those votes influence the final result,” the EBU said.

According to the Italian news agency Ansa, a pro-Russian hacker group also tried to disrupt the voting system.
