George Clooney on His Salary: “I Think It’s Terrible”
George Clooney responded to an article published in “The New York Times”. The text states that he and Brad Pitt received $35 million each for their participation in the film.
Here’s what the star said:
I don’t know the source of our salary, but it’s actually millions and millions less than what was reported. And I only say that because I think it’s a very bad thing for our industry if people actually believe that this is the standard by which stars are paid. I think it’s terrible. It makes it impossible to make movies.
This isn’t the first time Clooney has spoken out about how the film industry pays its performers. The star has stressed that actors who aren’t in the top league are paid such paltry salaries that they can’t support themselves on them.
