Elon Musk born into a wealthy family, where his father is an engineer, pilot, property developer and other professions. Some even mention the ayah once owned a diamond mine, something Elon Musk has always denied.
Yes, Elon doesn’t want his hard work to be simplified just because he has rich parents and gets big capital. “He didn’t have a diamond mine and I worked alone for college, ending up with student debt worth USD 100 thousand. I couldn’t even buy a used PC for Zip2 (his first company-ed),” said Elon in 2020.
Elon said he left South Africa at the age of 17 with a backpack and a suitcase filled with books. He then worked on his mother’s cousin’s farm in Canada. On a separate occasion, Elon claimed that at that time his stock money was only USD 2,000. “I arrived in North America aged 17 with USD 2000,” he said.
Even recently, the boss of SpaceX, Tesla and Twitter offered a prize of 1 million dogecoin for anyone who could prove himself or his family owning an emerald mine. “I’ll pay a million Dogecoin for proof of the existence of this mine,” challenged Elon.
So hearing the challenge, Errol Musk confirmed that the mine really existed. “When I read that I wondered if I could follow him because I can prove the mine exists. Elon knows it’s true, all my children know about it. Elon saw it (emerald) in our house. He knows I sold it,” Errol told The Sun.
Errol claims that he has a relationship with an Italian who owns a mine in Zambia. The Italian apparently told Errol he paid Zambians to dig for gems, and Errol decided to do business with the man.
“What Elon is saying is that there is no official mine. It is a rock formation sticking out of the ground in the middle of nowhere,” Errol was quoted as saying detikINET from Futurism, where he remains involved in the operation ‘under the table’.
“There is no (official) mining company. No signed agreements or financial statements. Nobody owns anything. The deal was done with a handshake with the Italian man at a time when Zambia is free for all,” he explained.
