According to him, the cosmic body did not move evenly, but in jerks, which indicates that it cannot be a comet. In addition, the object had an elongated shape, which also alerted Avi.

Loeb’s colleagues were skeptical about his idea: in their opinion, several signs that are not typical for a comet are still not enough to talk about an alien invasion of the solar system. Moreover, the mysterious object, which was named Oumuamua, has been studied many times, and no research has led experts to believe that it belongs to the inhabitants of other planets.
Loeb, in turn, noted that scientists should allow any assumptions about the origin of the interstellar object until proven otherwise.
Earlier, a number of experts have suggested that there may be life on the planet Venus. Loeb enthusiastically supported their hypothesis: according to him, it could have been brought there from Earth.
