A particularly powerful thunderstorm line swept over Manhattan in New York on Sunday evening, to the point where tornado warnings were issued for New York City, New Jersey and Connecticut.
Trees uprooted, grocery baskets blown away, roofs torn down, the damage was numerous and at the height of the crisis, more than 100,000 households were deprived of electricity.

Wind gusts of over 120 km / h were recorded. No tornadoes were confirmed, but swirling winds were seen.

Videos shared on social media show very powerful gusts of wind in the heart of Manhattan.
More than two million people live in the area targeted by the alerts, which ended around 10 p.m. Sunday evening.
