The cultural meeting was attended by the diplomatic corps of China accredited in the country, and representatives of state institutions, such as Laureano Ortega, son of the dictatorial couple and adviser for Investments, Trade and International Cooperation of the Presidency; Gustavo Porras, president of the National Assembly and head of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, Iván Acosta.
One year ago, on December 9, 2021, Ortega decided to sever his long-standing diplomatic ties with Taiwan to ensure his loyalty to Beijing.
“It is a very special date for us. It has been a year of intense work between the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Nicaragua in exchanges, cooperation, solidarity at all times with Nicaragua and this has been mutual,” said Ortega Murillo, during this Thursday’s concert.

The son of the dictatorial couple extended through his short speech “the embrace of our President Commander Daniel, our Vice President Rosario, Brother President Xi Jinping, the Communist Party of China, its people and its government, reaffirming the close friendship, brotherhood, brotherhood, between our peoples and governments, and that we will continue for many more years that triumphs, victories, hand in hand with China and Nicaragua”.
For his part, the ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Nicaragua, Chen Xi, said that “tomorrow (today) will be the first anniversary of our diplomatic relations. We have every reason to celebrate thanks to the personal attention of the top leaders, the joint efforts of all sectors of our two countries”.
“Political trust has been consolidated more and more, mutually beneficial cooperation has developed fruitfully, cultural and humanistic exchanges have developed dynamically,” the ambassador added.

The head of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, Iván Acosta, said that “the best relations have begun between two peoples, two countries, two parties such as the Sandinista National Liberation Front and the Communist Party of China with which they are collaborating all fields, where we have prioritized the agreement on the anticipated harvest and the negotiation of the free trade agreement, which we hope to conclude next semester.”
While Ortega’s deputy and president of the National Assembly, Gustavo Porras, expressed that “we really feel that it has been a brotherhood and a rapprochement of a lifetime. It is to strengthen the ties between two revolutions seeking prosperity, peace and a path of solidarity”.
