Continuing with matchday 35 of the Premier League, Aston Villa received bad news thinking about the future. First, because it went from 2-0 to 2-2 against Chelsea, somewhat complicating their aspirations to enter the next Champions League. And, second – fundamental -, the injury to Dibu Martínez, who barely played 45 minutes against Mauricio Pochettino’s team (without Enzo Fernández, who recently underwent surgery).
The Argentine goalkeeper had been seen with discomfort in the back of his right leg during the first half. He had to receive massages to relieve the affected area. And he didn’t go out to play in the ST. Until then, I hadn’t had much work. And what’s more, he had had luck on his side: a goal disallowed against Chelsea due to Jackson’s offside and a header from this same player that he had hit the post. As they told Ole, DM felt a puncture in his femoral muscle, but it wasn’t serious.

The massages they gave to Dibu Martínez on his right leg
Aston Villa stayed in the ST, after having been very effective in the first half: goals from Cucurella against and Rogers for the partial 2-0. Chelsea improved in the ST and put the home owner against a goal. Madueke scored and Gallagher – a great goal from outside the big area – established the tie that would be decisive. It could have even been a victory, but Isasi had the 3-2 score annulled due to a previous foul by a teammate.

What’s next for Aston Villa
It remains fourth in the Premier with 67 points, but he can be surpassed by Tottenham (he has 60 and three games to play). Now, the Villanos will focus their guns on the Conference League, where on Thursday they will host Olympiacos of Greece in the first leg of the semifinals.
What’s next for Chelsea
They were ninth with 48 points, today 12 behind the Europa League (Tottenham) and five games to play. It seems very difficult for me to access this next competition. They will play against the Spurs next Thursday.
