The strong and consolidated cooperative relationship of the Megaregion continues to bring good results, despite the last year that has been very complicated for everyone due to the Covid-19 pandemic, said Epifanio Salido Pavlovich.
In virtual meeting of the Council of the Megaregion Sonora-Arizona, the head of the Office of the State Executive noted that for almost six years the governor Claudia Pavlovich Arellano and Arizona Governor Doug Ducey have worked for the benefit of both states, but this year in particular, cooperation has been strengthened to recover their economy and vaccinate their inhabitants.
For this reason, in January of this year, he said, the Sonoran team that participates in the Commission’s Health Committee Sonora-Arizona visited the neighboring state to learn about the mass vaccination strategy that the Arizona Government implemented in the State Farm Stadium in Phoenix, a model that was recognized internationally and that Sonora will adopt, with its own characteristics, in the Stadium Sonora and in the Gymnasium of the University of Sonora.
“A delegation of Sonoran doctors in January went to learn about the vaccination process at State Farm Stadium and learned how they are doing very well in Arizona, I think Arizona has gotten a 10 in the vaccination process, thanks to that, yesterday we announced that we are going to have the stadium Sonora here in Hermosillo, as a place to first vaccinate the elderly and later the general population in Hermosillo, “he commented.
Stepped out Pavlovich urged the members of the Commission’s council Sonora-Arizona to continue working as they have during the administrations of the governor Claudia Pavlovich y Doug Ducey.
Juan Ciscomani, Vice President of the Commission Sonora-Arizona, reiterated that both governors have been in contact since the beginning of the pandemic and their teams have worked together to continue the work of the Commission.
He explained that, although the virus knows no borders, neither does the collaboration and friendship they have created Sonora and Arizona for decades, these have been strengthened by the governor Pavlovich and Governor Ducey for the benefit of these border states and their people.
