After enjoying the holidays of Holy Week, visitors to playa San José forgot to take with them the garbage that they generated during their stay; bags of plastic, disposables, food packaging and bottles were left on the shore.
Although this represents a strong problem of pollution, the walkers bagged their waste and left it on the sand, waste that the wind scattered around the place and reached the sea.
Fred Castelo López, director of Municipal Ecology of Bacum, regretted that there is no culture in citizens to collect their garbage and keep recreation areas clean.
“We must be aware of the situation we are going through, not to leave the garbage on the beaches, have the culture of picking up and putting garbage instead, if everyone raised their waste, they would not become such a suckling pig. “
He pointed out that the Department of Public Services began with the cleaning of the beaches, to prevent waste from remaining on the seashore, actions that are also carried out in areas such as the river where families gather every Sunday and this type is also presented. from problems.
It is worth mentioning that plastic garbage generates serious problems for ecosystems, since they are between 8 and 13 million tons of plastic those that each year end up polluting the sea.
