The “Out of Nothing” dream team, Diane Kruger and Fatih Akin, appeared together at the premiere of “The Shrouds” at the Hamburg Film Festival.
The Lower Saxony actress Diane Kruger, 48, and the Hamburg director Fatih Akin, 51, walked together on the red carpet at the Hamburg Film Festival on Thursday, arm in arm and smiling familiarly. The occasion was her new work “The Shrouds”. The dark horror film by David Cronenberg, 81, with which he dealt with the death of his long-time wife, celebrated its German premiere at the festival.

Diane Kruger, who plays the female lead in the film, arrived at the premiere in a black mini dress with black patterned tights underneath, a black Parker-style leather jacket on top and black pumps. Her blonde hair was styled back into a low bun with a side part, which showcased her pearl earrings. She kept her make-up subtle, with lots of eyeliner being emphasized.
Fatih Akin arrived at the event with the actress in an oversized black suit with a black T-shirt and gray vest underneath, according to footage posted by the film festival on its Instagram channel.

Your worldwide success “Out of nowhere”
Kruger and Akin have known each other since filming the very successful drama “Out of Nothing” (2017) and the subsequent awards tour. The film impressed worldwide. Among other things, the two and their film won at the German Film Prize, the Bavarian Film Prize, the Bambi Awards, the Golden Globe Awards and in Cannes. The film even made it onto the shortlist for Best Foreign Language Film at the 2018 Oscars.
In 2022, Diane Kruger came as a surprise guest and to support the premiere of Fatih Akin’s then new film “Rheingold” (2022), which was also presented for the first time at the Hamburg Film Festival.
