- Diana Navarro: “I leave my soul in everything I do”.
- Singer, actress and also model for a day. Diana Navarro poses with the most elegant looks of the season.
Diana Navarro be honest and tell us your best kept secrets in our ‘Celebrity Quiz’. The singer and actress told us about her most ambitious project: play Concha Piquer in the play ‘En Tierra Extrana’a new show created by José María Cámara and Juan Carlos Rubio and in which he stars alongside Alejandro Vera and Avelino Piedad.
The singer describes this work as “a play in its purest form. There is comedy, emotion, reflection, music and cante. Everything is a union of a meeting, which in reality never existed, between Concha Piquer, Rafael de León and Federico García Lorca”.
Diana feels great admiration for Concha Piquer, which is why she defines this project as “enriching”. “Thanks to Concha Márquez, who knew her, and to her biography that she wrote about her, and also to her granddaughter, Concha Romero, I have been able to learn things about Doña Concha that I have incorporated into the interpretation she made in the work”.
In a video, he tells us what has caught his attention the most about the artist. “The fines that she gave her workers, for being late or not being clean, she donated them to the charity. It was like a disciplinary punishment. She went hungry, she stole from the orchards to feed her family because her father died when she was 11 years old. and Concha became like the head of the family and that marked her”.
For some things, Diana is not as daring as Concha Piquer. The artist was one of the first to do a nude… would the singer dare? “I would only do it if it was to help someone in my family who was sick and had to get money. I’m a model of the last century.”
It wasn’t hard for the singer to get into the role of Concha Piquer but “I do respect it, especially because I have prepared myself as a television and film actress and I have taken presenter courses, but being a theater actress is a big word but with a text, a director and some wonderful colleagues, I feel very safe”. Of course, at the moment she has no egos: “I don’t know if a theater star has been born, but I enjoy it a lot”.
Before saying goodbye, Diana Navarro sang us a bit of her favorite song by Concha Piquer (with a final surprise). “It’s hard to choose one but ‘The romance of the other’ marked me at a time in my life. It is a couplet of what she lived “, she reveals to us.
