In the HPS Covid-19 Medical Unit, three types of diagnostic tests are performed: rapid antigen tests, PCR, serological tests and rapid antibody tests.
The Unit, accredited by the Canary Islands Health Service, has programs for individuals, companies and hotels.
Individuals:
QUICK ANTIGEN TEST – € 30: A lateral flow test to quickly and qualitatively detect the SARS-CoV-2 virus. A nasopharyngeal swab is used to obtain samples. High sensitivity and specificity. Response time in 15 minutes.
RAPID ANTIBODIES TEST – € 25: Qualitative test of IgG and IgM antibodies by lateral flow immunochromatography (rapid tests). Sample in whole blood or serum. Response time in 10/15 minutes.
SEROLOGICAL TEST: – € 58: Automated quantitative test of IgG and IgM antibodies by CLIA (chemiluminescence) or by ELISA (Enzyme-immunoassay). Serum sample. Response time of 72 hours from the arrival of the sample to the laboratory. Quantifies the level of antibodies generated.
PCR – € 125: Directly detects the RNA (ribonucleic acid) of the virus in the body, that is, the genetic material of the virus active at the time the sample is taken. The respiratory sample is taken from the nose and pharynx with a swab that is subsequently analyzed in the Molecular Biology laboratory.
