The City Hall of Diadema will anticipate the Vaccination Campaign against Measles, Mumps and Rubella (SCR), for children from zero to four years of age, as of Monday (18). On the same day, influenza vaccination will also begin for the public of the same age.
The application of the two doses is available at the 19 Basic Health Units (UBSs), from Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. People referred to UBS Piraporinha should go to the Mané Garrincha Municipal Club, where the UBS facilities are operating during the renovation. Check the addresses of the vaccination posts at http://www.diadema.sp.gov.br/secretaria-saude/26592-conheca-os-locais-de-vacinacao-para-covid-19.
To vaccinate the little ones, the person responsible must present the vaccination booklet and a document of the child. There is no contraindication to receiving the vaccine. The guidance of the Municipal Health Department (SMS) is that, if the child has a fever or some flu process, take him to vaccinate only when his health condition improves.
For the coordinator of Health Surveillance in Diadema, Cristina da Silva Marins, vaccines are the best way to avoid deaths and serious sequelae resulting from vaccine-preventable diseases. “Vaccination is a fundamental step for the healthy development of children and adolescents. Currently, we are witnessing the resurgence of diseases already eradicated in the country, due to low adherence to immunization. In addition, for a long period of time there were no cases of certain diseases, causing a false sensation that the vaccine is no longer necessary. With that, diseases like measles and polio are re-emerging,” she warned. The coordinator also reinforces the request to parents. “This situation has raised concerns among health authorities, since we can prevent these diseases with vaccination. Therefore, we appeal to parents and guardians: vaccinate your children, vaccines are extremely safe and effective”, she adds.
The SCR and flu campaigns for this age group will continue until April 30, and the goal is to vaccinate 95% of the 25,600 children up to four years old who live in Diadema.
