The Red Devils of Mexico managed to stay alive in the Southern Zone Championship Series after beating the Oaxaca Warriors 16-5 on Wednesday at the Lic. Eduardo Vasconcelos Park.
The team managed by José Valentín arrived at the fourth game against the scarlet team with a 3-0 advantage, so one more victory would give them the ticket to the King Series; however, the team from the capital had an excellent performance in the fourth and ninth innings, where they got six and four runs, respectively, to seal the victory and put the series 3-1.
Despite this victory, the Diablos Rojos are still on the tightrope, as they are obliged to win the next four games to be able to reach the King’s Series. Meanwhile, the Oaxacan team only needs one victory to advance to said competition.
The fifth game of this series will take place this Thursday at the same venue.
On the other hand, the Tecos de los Dos Laredos defeated the Sultanes de Monterrey 6-1 this Wednesday at the Uni-Trade Stadium to extend the Northern Zone Championship Series to the sixth game, which will take place next Friday at the Mobil Super stadium.
With the victory of the feathered ones, achieved on the hill by Robert Stock, the series was 3-2 in favor of the Monterrey team.
