Diablos beat Leones after resuming game 2 of the South Zone Series

Mexico City. It took the Diablos Rojos del México two days to get their second victory over Leones de Yucatán in the Southern Zone Series. One day after the game was suspended due to rain, they achieved an 8-6 victory over the melenudos.

With this game, the scarlet team has a 2-0 record in this series and the fight between these two teams will continue on Monday in Yucatan.

The game was suspended on Friday due to rain that flooded the Alfredo Harp Helú field. It was resumed on Saturday from the second inning when the Devils had a 4-0 lead.

The victory was sealed with three runs in the second inning and a field home run in the eighth.

The game turned into a parade of pitchers and hitters, as 29 hits were achieved. The scarlet team connected on 15, while the melenudos hit 14.

Saturday’s game featured a cast of 13 pitchers, six from the Lions and seven from the Pingos. The victory, however, went to Ryan Meisinger, with a performance of one inning with one run; starter Francisco Haro took the loss.

This game was also marked by the ejection of two Leones pitchers and the team’s manager, Roberto Vizcarra. Elián Leyva was ejected for hitting Franklin Barreto in the face during a pitch, apparently without consequences. Then Lisandro Santos arrived, who was ejected for pitching and hitting Robinson Canó in the helmet.
