Why a new director for Diablo 4?
The reason Joe Shely is now the new director is because Luis Barriga, the game’s previous director, has been fired. His resignation comes after Activision Blizzard is sued by the state of California. In the workplace there is allegedly sexual harassment and discrimination. Activision Blizzard hasn’t finished the issues yet. Because there is a major investigation into the US government company. In addition, the original indictment has also been expanded, because the publisher allegedly withheld and destroyed evidence.
Joe Shely also mentions the problems Activision Blizzard has in the blog. He makes it clear that this is of course very difficult, but Diablo 4 is still being worked on.
