Blizzard surprised us again by announcing that Diablo 4 will appear on Valve’s platform – within days. Could this be an attempt to save the game?
Overwatch 2 on Steam already seemed to be a sensation, but Blizzard has just doubled it, announcingthat Diablo 4 will also appear on Valve’s platform. This will happen on October 17, so in less than two weeks.
A Battle.net account will be required to play, and while playing, we will earn Steam achievements and be able to participate in the game with users of other platforms via the cross-play function.
Let us remind you that on the same day the second season of Diablo IV will begin – Season of Blood, which will revolve around vampires. Therefore, it seems that Blizzard wants to enter Valve’s platform with a bang.
You may also ask yourself what today’s announcement reflects on the condition of the latest installment of the legendary hack’n’slash series. While the introduction of Overwatch 2 on Steam did not seem to be a bad idea, considering the controversies constantly weighing on this free shooter, Diablo – it would seem Blizzard’s strongest asset – is truly surprising.
It can be concluded that it is not only on Twitch that the game is performing alarmingly poorly – despite its great success immediately after its premiere – and “Ziemiec” decided to take a radical step to maintain interest in its flagship product.
Is this really the case? We’ll get more insight into what’s happening with Diablo 4 once the title becomes available on Steam and we’ll be able to monitor its activity scores.

He fell into the trap of electronic entertainment through his older brother – a game collector and player. For years of his youth, he did not have his own gaming equipment, so he invested time browsing GOL’s Great Encyclopedia of Games (and CD-Action). He fulfilled his destiny shortly after graduating from high school, in 2013, by sending his CV to the Krakow editorial office. He was educated as a two-class librarian/infobroker, but instead of following in the footsteps of Deckard Cain or the Shadow Broker, he preferred to continue his career as a news writer from around the world (and beyond). After a few years of drilling a hole in the stomach of half of the editorial staff, he wrestled a place among the GRYOnline.pl employees and moved to Krakow in 2017. Before he flew from there to Poznań (in 2020), he was remembered as the guy who goes to Tolkien conventions, drives a nasty Subaru Impreza and brandishes a sword in the company parking lot. Today, he watches the Encyclopedia of Games and the Information Service from a distance.
