Risk factors for death relate to age. “Diabetics over the age of 75 are 14 times more likely to die after seven days in hospital than those under the age of 55.” In addition, those with diabetes-related complications (retina, kidney, cardiovascular disease) are also more likely to die from covid-19, reports AFP.
