TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – got diabetes at a young age is now nothing new. According to data from the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), 463 million adults (20-79 years) live with diabetes.
Jumlah tersebut diprediksi pada 2045 akan meningkat menjadi 700 juta. Sementara itu lebih dari 1,1 juta anak dan remaja hidup dengan diabetes tipe 1.
Konsultan endoktrin, metabolik, diabetes, Susie Setyowati, menjelaskan penderita diabetes di Indonesia sekitar 10 juta orang. “Sekitar 10 tahun mendatang dapat meningkat dua sampai tiga kali lipat” katanya seperti yang dikutip Tempo dari laman p2ptm.kemkes.go.id, Selasa, 20 Juli 2021.
Menurut Susie, penyakit ini tidak dapat sembuh. Namun diabetes dapat dikendalikan agar tak sampai menimbulkan komplikasi.

First, rapid-acting insulin that works 15 minutes after being injected and the effect lasts 3-4 hours. Second, regular (short-acting) insulin works 30-60 minutes after injection and lasts 5-8 hours.
Next there is Intermediate-acting insulin which works 1-2 hours after being injected and the effect lasts 14-16 hours. The four long-acting insulin that works 2 hours after being injected and the effect lasts up to 24 hours. Lastly, ultra long-acting insulin that works 6 hours after being injected and the effect lasts about 36 hours.
So that young people don’t get diabetes, there are things that must be improved, such as: healthy lifestyles In everyday life, start to regulate the diet as well as the amount of sugar intake that enters the body. Don’t forget to exercise regularly so that your body weight remains ideal.
