JAKARTA – Diabetes in children generally is type 1 diabetes. Not only children, infants, toddlers and adults also have the potential to be attacked. Usually this diabetes tends to be difficult to cure. Children with diabetes must require daily insulin injections. In contrast to type 2 diabetes that arises due to lifestyle, type 1 diabetes is caused by the pancreas not producing any insulin.
Summarizing from the Cleveland Clinic, Tuesday (5/10/2021) type 1 diabetes is caused by an autoimmune reaction in which the body destroys cells in the pancreas that make insulin . Currently the cause of type 1 diabetes is still being studied, but it is believed that there are two possibilities, including:
1.Gen (inherited from family)
2. Viruses or triggers in the environment

Symptoms of Type 1 Diabetes in Children
Symptoms of type 1 diabetes can appear weeks or months after enough pancreatic beta cells are destroyed. Symptoms can be severe when they appear, and include:
1. Frequent urination.
2. Abnormal thirst.
3. Unexplained weight loss.
