There are people who do not dare to speak openly
“There are people in Bachmut who say they are waiting for the Russians and that’s why they don’t leave the town,” says a German journalist from Die Welt.
“Why do so many people, no matter what, decide to stay in their hometown? Why do they refuse to leave Bakhmut? she asks.
“Most often this is done by people of a certain age, the elderly and the very elderly. We have already heard with our ears how they say that they do not know where they will be taken and they are afraid to go where they do not know anyone.
– They are afraid that they will have to live somewhere in a sports hall. They openly say that they prefer to die, but they will die in their own home, where everything is familiar to them.
In addition, here, as in the whole of Donbas, there are people who sometimes do not dare to speak openly, but think to themselves: “I am waiting for the Russians”, so this reason cannot be ruled out,” the journalist answers.
