Di María’s contract renewal with Benfica has been confirmed

Through official channels, Benfica officially, this Tuesday (6), extended the agreement with Angel Di Maria. Now, the contract with the historic 36-year-old player runs until June 2025.

This move ends a series of comments about the future of the athlete who, this year, came close to returning to Argentine football. More precisely, to his beloved club, the Rosario Central.

As a result, other clubs from both continental America and European football began to be identified as potential destinations. On the one hand, if there was a desire to stay on the Old Continent first, there was a favorable pressure on an attack from Inter Miami due to the decisive power of his friend and teammate, Lionel Messi. This figure, by the way, is also a countryman from a city with Angel Di Maria.

Therefore, almost throughout the off-season in Europe, the chance to renew with Benfica seemed to be the most likely. However, after confirmation, the athlete who will compete for the fifth biennium with the shirt of Encarnados expressed his happiness with continuity in the Portuguese representation:
