Deputy Germán Di Cesare (FdT) presented a project for Miramar to be declared as “Provincial Capital of Open Sky Art”.
Through the documentation that supports said request, it is specified that “with the endorsement of the municipality, in conjunction with the active participation of educational, sports and social institutions, artistic interventions have been developed, in public outdoor spaces, aimed at empowering of the citizen as a constructor of cultural facts through art ”.
He indicated that, from 2011 to 2015, an outstanding activity called “Cultural Walk to Open Sky, Raquel Forner” was carried out in which local plastics intervened on the main street the panels that are used to wall the shops, changing the physiognomy of this artery in winter. With a similar purpose, in 2019 the theme “The city we all want” was addressed.
Then, through the plastic artist Marité Svast, the International Public Art Biennial was born, which, over the years, became the great cultural event of the city.
This artistic-cultural circuit, called “Parque de la Bienal”, has 28 wall murals, intervened with mosaic, sgraffito and high relief techniques, plus 13 sculptures made of metal, wood or cement.
These works were carried out by prestigious referents from Argentina as well as by others from different countries who left their cultural idiosyncrasy reflected in Miramar.
The “José Hernández” amphitheater is also located. And, as a collateral activity, a sculpture of the traditional isologo “M” of Miramar, which defines the city for tourism, was intervened with mixed techniques during BIAM 2019 and was implanted by the sea on a busy coastal walk.
Also included in the documentation supporting the application are other actions carried out in suburban neighborhoods, for example, “Aeroparque, fly in Art”.
