Chennai: Former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has filed an outrage lawsuit against the IPS officer. G. Dhoni turned to the High Court of Madras asking for an action against Sampath Kumar. Dhoni filed the petition claiming he had made remarks against the Supreme Court and government lawyers in connection with the IPL match-fixing scandal.
The case was presented in court yesterday, but the argument was not heard. The case could be heard on Tuesday. Aside from contempt for prosecution, Dhoni also sought compensation of Rs 100 crore from the officer who made match-fixing charges against him. The 2013 IPL match-fixing scandal was investigated by Sampath Kumar.
Dhoni had approached the camp that day trying to prevent Sampath from connecting it to match-fixing. On March 18, 2014, the Madras court then issued a provisional order banning Dhoni from being linked to match-fixing. However, the new complaint is that even after this, Sampath filed an affidavit with the Supreme Court with offensive remarks against the court and the high-ranking lawyers representing the government.
On July 18 this year, Tamil Nadu Advocate General R. Dhoni filed contempt in court against the police officer after Shanmugasundaram gave permission. The actor filed a complaint in court on 11 October.
