PSN : Officers carried out the Eradication of Dengue Mosquito Nests (PSN) in Lomanis Village, Saturday (12/2).
CILACAP – After one resident died of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF), residents of Lomanis Village, Central Cilacap District, continue to intensify DHF Mosquito Nest Eradication (PSN) activities.
Assisted by officers and Puskesmas officers, PSN residents in an effort to suppress the reappearance of victims, control and eradicate dengue cases in the Lomanis Village area. Because PSN is considered effective enough to eradicate these mosquito larvae.
The village head of Lomanis, Wahyu Indarto conveyed, technically, the targets controlled by Jumantik officers and related institutions, including bathtubs that have not been cleaned for 3 days, drinking water for birds/animals, used tires, mineral water bottles, dispensers, refrigerators and flower pots. .
In addition, the officers also provide understanding to residents to always keep the environment clean, namely through the 3 M (Easy, Close and Get Rid or Recycle).
“With the existence of health problems, it is not only the responsibility of the Health Service but also the support of all parties, as well as related agencies in realizing the Lomanis Village community that is healthy and free from all threats of disease,” said Wahyu.
In addition to dengue fever, in the midst of rising cases of Covid-19, Wahyu also reminded residents not to be careless with another disease that is very quickly transmitted through mosquito bites, namely dengue fever, considering that recently some of its residents have become victims.
“Hopefully with this PSN bluff, it can change the environment to be clean and no more residents are bitten by the Aedes aegypti mosquito or free from any disease,” he said.
Babinsa Lomanis, Serka Catur Pambudi said that the Aedes mosquito and dengue fever had killed the residents of Lomanis.
“Last week in RW 05 Lomanis Village, dengue fever caused one resident to die at an early age,” he said.
He admits that the weakness of PSN is one of the causes of the ease with which the Aedes aegypti mosquito breeds in its environment. Even though it’s not a solution, local residents are currently doing fogging independently by renting tools from the private sector to eradicate dengue fever mosquitoes.
“Residents of RW 04 then took the initiative to do fogging independently by renting tools from the private sector,” he added.
Head of RT 03/04 Andika explained that spraying or fogging was chosen as the last alternative considering the situation of dengue fever in his environment was quite worrying, with there were already victims.
“We are responsible for the health and safety of our residents, that’s why we are fogging today,” said Andika. (nas)
