DHF Rises, Soromandi Health Center Incessantly Performs PSN

BIMA-The death rate from dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) has increased in Bima District. So far, seven children have died.

To reduce the number of DHF, the health center appealed to residents. For example the Soromandi Health Center. Officers are aggressively carrying out eradication of mosquito nests (PSN) in a number of villages.

“In Soromandi, two children are suspected of having DHF,” said the Head of Administration for the Soromandi Health Center, Muamar Kadafi, accompanied by the Soromandi Health Center Surveillance Coordinator, Agus Haryanto, yesterday.

The two suspected DHF patients came from the villages of Punti and Kananta. Both have been referred to Bima Hospital and Bima City Hospital. “The patient from Punti is four years old, while the patient from Kananta is two years old,” he said.

Soromandi Health Center officers have targeted three villages. Namely the villages of Punti, Lewintana and Kananta. Yesterday (27/1), they together with the district government, village government, Babinsa, and Babinkamtibmas came out to appeal to the people in Sarita Hamlet, Punti Village.

Officers invite people to adopt a healthy lifestyle. Clean containers that can become breeding grounds for mosquito larvae. His party also asked the community to implement 3 M, namely draining, closing and burying water reservoirs that have the potential to become mosquito breeding grounds. “We also distribute abates, larvae surveys and PSN,” he added.
