DHF in Tangerang Regency Increases 2 Times, Reaches 611 Cases as of June

ERA.id – Cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) in Tangerang Regency reached 611 cases until June 2022 which occurred in the period January to June 2022.

Head of the Disease Prevention and Control Division of the Tangerang Regency Health Office (Dinkes), Sumihar, said the hundreds were recorded from the January 2022 period.

“Meanwhile, in 2021 from January to December there will only be 671. This means that within half a year there will be a two-fold increase compared to the previous year,” he said, Thursday (16/6/2022).

Sumihar said the increase in cases was due to the peak of the rainy season in his area. In addition, there are frequent floods in several districts.

“Meanwhile, the case fatality rate (CFR) or the death rate in 2021 is only 0.4 percent. While this year it is 0.41 percent,” he said.

Sumihar explained that the case caused by the Aedes Aegypti mosquito has now infected all ages, from children to the elderly (elderly). Meanwhile, the five areas with the most dengue cases were Kelapa Dua, Curug, Balaraja, Pagedangan, and Legok.

Sumihar appealed to the public to pay attention to the cleanliness of the surrounding environment. Routinely check water reservoirs that can become mosquito larvae developments and always apply the 3M plus movement (draining, closing, and burying).

“To reduce this dengue case, we urge the public to want to check the larvae of each house (one house one jumantik),” he explained.
