DHF in Sampang will increase by 129 cases in 2022

Madura Raya (ANTARA) – The Sampang Health and Family Planning Office noted that dengue haemorrhagic fever (DHF) during 2022 increased by 129 cases compared to the previous year.

“This year, the number of dengue cases we handled was 337 cases, while in 2021 there were only 208,” said Yuliono, head of disease prevention and control (P2P) services at the department of health and family planning (Dinkes-KB) in a press statement in Sampang on Thursday.

The highest DHF patient data was from Banyuanyar Health Center, which reached 81 cases, while the lowest was from West Bunten Health Center, Ketapang District, i.e. zero or zero cases.

Yuliono admitted that DHF cases in Sampang have increased significantly this year, one of which is due to the fact that the community and health workers have so far focused more on managing the COVID-19, hence the anticipation of the suppression of the DHF tends to get less attention.

However, he said, efforts to prevent the spread of DHF must now be considered, especially since the number of people suffering from this case is quite high, even increasing from the previous year.

He asked residents not to stop doing “3M’s”, namely draining water tanks, closing water tanks and burying unused used items that have the potential to become breeding grounds for mosquitoes.

“Besides ‘3M’, what needs to be considered is also avoiding mosquito bites. This can be done by using a mosquito net over the bed or by turning on the mosquito nets,” she said.

Another thing that has also been done by the Sampang Health Bureau is to prevent the spread of dengue caused by mosquito bites temples of the Egyptians This is done by misting the courtyard of a DHF positive patient’s house.
