“Surely we will first determine whether the person concerned died of dengue or not. If, for example, the information comes from residents, we will confirm it again at the hospital or puskesmas. After obtaining definite results, the PE officer will search or check the resident’s house for mosquito larvae aedes aegypti. The goal is to check whether it is true that the person in question has dengue in the vicinity of his residence,” he said.
According to Didi, the examination is important as a step to check whether the dengue patient has been infected or has been bitten by mosquitoes aedes aegypti around the house or elsewhere. If indeed mosquito larvae are found around the house, it means that there has been transmission and education must be carried out, then continued with mutual cooperation or running the Mosquito Nest Eradication (PSN) program by means of 3M Plus.
“This 3M Plus PSN is important because this type of larvae also grows in clean water. If the community has water reservoirs that are needed and cannot be drained, then an abatement must be given. After that, then it can be done fogging or fumigation. The goal is to kill adult mosquitoes, because the larvae die after the PSN 3 M Plus earlier,”
“Essentially, when there are cases of DHF, whether they have died or have recovered, we will definitely work with the community. For this reason, the community must also be cooperative, because it is impossible for officers to clean their homes and surroundings.
