JAKARTA – The Acting (Plt) Director of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control, Tiffany Tiara Pakasi, revealed that more than 45,000 cases of dengue fever were found during 2022.
“The cumulative number of dengue cases in Indonesia until the 22nd week was reported as 45,387 cases. Meanwhile, the number of deaths due to dengue has reached 432 cases,” explained Tiffany in a press statement received on Thursday (16/6).
Tiffany said the cases of dengue fever had been detected in 449 districts/cities spread across 34 provinces. Meanwhile, cases of death due to dengue fever have spread to 162 districts/cities in 31 provinces.

“The provinces that reported the most were Lampung, West Java, and DI Yogyakarta,” he continued.
Tiffany added that until now dengue is still a health problem and a serious threat in a number of areas in Indonesia. This is because this disease does not only affect the health sector, but also the social and economic sectors of the community.
According to him, cases of dengue tend to increase during the rainy season like recently. He also invited the public to take preventive measures to prevent dengue fever, especially in endemic areas.
To prevent the spread of dengue fever, which tends to increase during the rainy season, his party invites the community to take preventive measures through the 1 House 1 Jumantik (G1R1J) Movement. This movement involves the active role of the community, especially family members, to carry out 3M Plus Mosquito Nest Cleaning (PSN) in the home environment and other public places to achieve a larva-free rate of more than 95%.
“This G1R1J movement was carried out simultaneously in 154 regencies/cities by involving 6,122 Jumantik coordinators, 4,498 supervisors, and 1,047 Port Jumantik Cadres (KJP),” he explained.
He hopes that the movement can be more widespread in various regions in Indonesia. so that the number of cases of DHF can decrease and there will be no more fatalities due to the disease.
