Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Number of sufferers Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in Kota Bekasi, West Java, is still increasing. This is a matter of concern for the community, especially the parents.
The Bekasi City Health Office reports the number of sufferers DBD during 2022, a total of 1,416 people, with 10 of them dying.
The highest number of cases throughout 2022 were in the Districts of North Bekasi (329) and East Bekasi (206). Meanwhile, the lowest cases were in Pondok Melati District (18) and Bantargebang (19).
“The majority of DHF patients are aged 15-44 years, as many as 213 people,” said Head of the Bekasi City Health Office, Tanti Rohilawati, in a statement, Tuesday (7/6/2022).
The efforts made by the Health Office Bekasi cityincluding maximizing the function of the Puskesmas as the closest health service facility to the community.
“The Bekasi City Health Office will carry out monitoring of the DHF team in all sub-districts. Then give larvicides to each Puskesmas to suppress the development of mosquito larvae,” said Tanti.
Health centers are also advised to provide counseling and socialization to the community regarding the handling of DHF. Residents are also asked to routinely carry out 3M plus activities to prevent mosquito breeding.
One of the dengue-affected areas in RW 18 Permata Hijau Permai Housing, Central Kaliabang, North Bekasi, also anticipates mosquito breeding by doing fogging. “There are already six of our residents who have been affected by dengue fever,” said the head of RW 18, Romi.
Romi hopes that with fogging, it can kill mosquitoes and larvae that nest in the surrounding environment. “Hopefully no more residents of RW 18 are affected by dengue,” he said.
