On 27/28 August 2022, 28 clubs from the 2nd HBL and 3rd league will start the fight for the DHB Cup 2022/23. Today the matches of the 1st round of the prestigious cup were drawn by “Losfee” Daniel Haase at the headquarters of HBL GmbH in Cologne.
Haase, who was voted ‘Young Manager of the Season’ a few weeks ago and looks after the young lions at Rhein-Neckar Löwen, has pulled off exciting matches from the two urns split on a regional basis.
VfL Gummersbach, promoted to the first division, for example, has to contend with HSG Konstanz in the south, which has entered the second handball league. In the north, HC Empor Rostock meets, among others, HSG Nordhorn-Lingen.

The division of the polls corresponded to the division of the previous 2021/22 season.
The 14 winners qualify for the 2nd round, in which the 18 first division clubs from the 2021/22 season enter the competition for the DHB Cup. This will be on 15./16. April 2023 as part of the REWE Final4.
