Dhanush overcomes India by capturing; South Indian stars in top ten
Dhanush topped the list of India’s most popular movie stars in 2022. Dhanush topped the list published by IMDB.
2022 was the year Dhanush made his Hollywood debut with the film The Gray Man and gained a lot of attention globally. Along with this, Dhanush has also filled the Tamil market with the super hit Tiruchithirambalam.
Dhanush won the first position beating Alia Bhatt and Aishwarya Rai in second and third place.
This year’s list also has the distinction that six of the top ten positions are South Indian players. Ram Charan, Samantha, Junior NTR, Allu Arjun and Yash are in the top ten.
After Aishwarya Rai, Ram Charan and Samantha reached the fourth and fifth position. Hrithik Roshan is the first actor in this Bollywood list which ranks at number six. Kiara Advani is in seventh place. Junior NTR is in eighth position and Allu Arjun and Yash are in the last positions.
The popularity of South Indian films in Indian cinema in recent years is also reflected in the IMDb listing. While various films like Kantara and KGF created a stir at the box office, many other films have gained large audiences thanks to OTT.
South Indian dubbed films even played a major role in bringing people back to Bollywood cinemas, which had suffered successive failures. The specialty of 2022 has been that the public, industries and critics have quickly changed their minds from where they said Indian cinema means Bollywood.
