Dhaka, Bangladesh, tvOnenews.com – Bangladesh health authorities on Wednesday (15/11) recorded 24 new deaths from dengue fever, bringing the death toll to above 1,500 people since January.
Of the 24 deaths, 11 were recorded in Dhaka, which is the epicenter of the fever outbreak caused by the mosquito-borne virus.
The deaths are out of a total of 1,520 deaths across the country, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
DGHS also recorded 1,623 new hospitalized cases in Bangladesh, including 349 cases in Dhaka.
Total dengue cases have risen to 296,665 this year since January, including 104,576 in Dhaka.
