DGCCRF: more than 45 million FCFA generated in December 2023 – AGP

Libreville, January 23, 2024 (AGP) – The Ministry of the Economy and Participations published on Monday, January 22, the results of the controls and inspections carried out by the General Directorate of Competition, Consumption and Fraud Repression (DGCCRF) in December 2023, which generated more than 45,000,000 FCFA (45,644,584 FCFA).

These results were obtained following several market surveillance operations, processing of price scales, marketing authorizations (Amm) and consumption authorizations (Amc), as well as leases. .

For the market surveillance operation, 241 checks were carried out, leading to penalties for the violations noted, and generating an amount of 6,378,000 FCFA. Regarding the price scales, 96 scales were processed, for an amount of 3,925,000 FCFA.

Regarding Marketing Authorizations (Amm), 1,285 were processed, three of which were subject to payment of inspection fees for a total amount of 2,550,080 FCFA. As for Authorizations for Consumption (Amc), 1,038 were processed, of which 43 generated inspection fee payments for a total amount of 29,316,940 FCFA.

Furthermore, 199 leases were processed, generating an amount of 2,911,764 FCFA, with a particular case subject to litigation for 1,500,000 FCFA.

These control and inspection activities have enabled the DGCCRF to generate significant revenue, demonstrating its action in favor of consumer protection and the fight against fraudulent practices on the markets.
