The State Fund “Agriculture” (DFZ) transferred over BGN 5 million (BGN 5,076,691) to 2,471 farmers who claimed The eco scheme for ecological maintenance of permanent crops (Eco-TN) for Campaign 2023. Eligibility conditions can be fulfilled through two practices:
Practice 1 – Sowing and growing in the rows and along the inner border of the plot with perennial crops one or a mixture of crops specified in the appendix to Regulation 3 of 10.03.2023.
Practice 2 – Maintenance of strips occupied with natural vegetation along the edges of the plots with perennial plants.
The items, on which the subsidies were paid, are determined by order of the Minister of Agriculture and Food. For Practice 1 (between rows) the support is in the amount of BGN 224 per ha, and for Practice 2 (strips) the subsidy is BGN 119.69 per hectare.
To be eligible for support under Practice 1, farmers have a commitment to sow and cultivate in the inter-rows and along the inner border of the plot with perennials one or a mixture of the crops in Appendix 15 of Regulation 3 of 10.03.2023, where it is attached list of permissible crops for sowing and cultivation in the inter-rows.
In Practice 2, farmers should maintain strips of natural vegetation at the edges of perennial plots, with a maximum strip width of up to 20 meters and a minimum width of 1 meter, on which plant protection products are not applied. The assistance according to Practice 2 is carried out for the permissible area of the established strip, after carrying out all checks.
