The German Football League is preparing to honor the champions of the 2nd Bundesliga on Sunday at two locations.
If FC Schalke 04 defends the lead in the game against 1. FC Nürnberg, DFL Managing Director Donata Hopfen will present the championship trophy at the Max Morlock Stadium, the governing body announced on Tuesday. If SV Werder Bremen, who are playing against Jahn Regensburg, oust Schalke from first place, DFL board member Ansgar Schwenken will present the trophy in the Hanseatic city.
According to the DFL, the original championship trophy of the 2nd Bundesliga will be in the Nuremberg stadium for the game of Schalke, the front runner who is sure to be promoted to the Bundesliga. A copy is available in Bremen. SV Werder is second in the table, two points behind before the final.
