DFL meeting planned for Thursday – Radio Köln

Corona virus crisis

As announced by the DFL in Frankfurt / Main, there will be a counter on Thursday with the 36 professional clubs of the 1st and 2nd league. This had been planned for some time. There is a U-turn when the tests for the corona virus are published at the clubs: The DFL no longer wants to publish the results centrally, which it had explicitly claimed last week.

“With a view to the mandatory corona tests of players and team environment, the fourth row is currently running at the clubs. However, since the tests are no longer carried out synchronously as before the start of team training, the DFL can no longer publish central overviews, »the statement said. “Communication in this regard is therefore with the clubs, which are also informed about it.”

At the bottom of the league, Dynamo Dresden, two corona virus tests had recently been positive. The entire team has to be in quarantine for two weeks because the team training has already started. This means that two second division games had already been canceled before the expected restart. At Bundesliga club 1. FC Köln, only the positively tested people had previously been sent to isolation. The concept of the DFL is still “on solid feet”, as Mönchengladbach’s sports director Max Eberl had said.

At the meeting, the anchoring of the concept of the “Task Force Sports Medicine / Special Game Operations” was also on the agenda as an annex to the rules of the game. A decision should also be made about increasing the replacement quota to five players for the current season. The International Football Association Board had cleared the way for this.
