Author of the seventh consecutive game without defeat, the DFCO can still catch regrets after sharing points against Nîmes Olympique (0-0). The Reds lacked motivation on the offensive level.
This is the kind of game where emotions get in the way… Should we be satisfied with a draw without conceding a goal and not being locked out? Or regret the two points lost at home? One thing is for sure, and it is pleasing, the DFCO have extended their unbeaten streak to 7 games in a row without losing, in the process maintaining their status as the most impressive defense in the National.
Unfortunately, the DFCO did not find the key. However, the Reds started the game very well and gave hope for a better result. At the outset, with no clear chances, in the first quarter of an hour, the DFCO appears more and more dangerous as the minutes pass. Jovany Ikanga, the main offensive spy, will send several good crosses to the Gard area, but together with her friend Alexandre Parsemain, they will never find the right moment (18th, 22nd). Jordan Marié misses his curling shot (22nd), and we would have been happy to see the end result of a shot from Nassim Titebah, without a defender against the ball (29th). This same Titebah would have deserved credit with an assist, but Rayan Souici’s diving header failed to find the target (30th). The assurance of Alexandre Parsemain will not be enough, his tackle when he receives a cross from Hugo Vargas-Rios ends up in the small outside net (35th). Countered in a forest of legs, Jordan Marié’s strike fared no better (44th). Until then harmless, Nîmes could have cooled Gaston-Gérard, but fortunately Oussama Abdeldjelil misses his series at the entrance of the area (45th).
In the second half, the offensive click doesn’t happen. Jovany Ikanga was not far from offering us his “special”, but the Nîmes defense was steadfastly strong (53rd). As in the first period, one of his centers will again be too slow (64th). After entering the game a few minutes earlier, Kader N’Chobi will not have any more success. He also fell on the other foot while his vision seemed to be on target and dangerous (77th). The minutes go by and the Reds never manage to win the game. Hugo Vargas-Rios will blame himself for not being more accurate in an overhead kick (88th), but it will be a relief to see Yanis Chahid’s save to prevent Amara from hitting (90th).
6th tied with Sochaux (12 points), the DFCO will now focus on a less visible trip to Valenciennes (5th) from Wednesday (7:30pm). To stay on track, you need to go and get a product in the North!
