DFB Legend Lothar Matthäus Applauds Harry Kane’s Million-Dollar Transfer to Bayern Munich

Munich (dpa) – DFB record national player Lothar Matthäus (62) has praised the million-dollar transfer from Harry Kane to Bayern Munich. “I think he’s worth the money,” said Matthäus on Monday in Munich at a media briefing by the betting provider Interwetten about the transfer from Tottenham Hotspur, which cost more than 100 million euros. “I think it will pay off over the next three or four years. With Harry Kane, there is also a leader who can make his teammates better.”

Matthäus not only praised the sporting qualities of Kane (30), who made an impressive debut on Friday at Werder Bremen (4-0) with a goal and an assist. “He doesn’t run away, he’s close to the fans,” said Matthäus, praising the captain of the English national football team for his supposedly already recognizable “mia san mia” attitude. “He fits in, he’s almost a second Thomas Müller. He doesn’t hide, doesn’t run away.”
