Dortmund / Munich – Not spectacular at first glance, but definitely dangerous. There are only two Bundesliga duels in the round of 16 of the DFB Cup. The VfL Wolfsburg receives in the round of the last 16 teams Schalke 04*, Borussia Monchengladbach* travels to VfB Stuttgart.
Also has Borussia Dortmund* in the Westphalia duel with second division SC Paderborn home right. That was the result of the draw on Sunday by Olympic ski jumping champion Sven Hannawald in Cologne.
Record winner * and defending champion Bayern Munich* does not play his second round match at Holstein Kiel until January 13th, the winner of this duel receives the second division Darmstadt 98 in the round of 16. Also the encounter between last year’s finalists Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt was moved to January 12th. The winner goes to Rot-Weiss Essen, the last remaining fourth division team.

DFB Cup round of 16: lucky draw for FC Bayern – BVB before explosive Westphalia duel
The Bundesliga clubs RB Leipzig, 1. FC Cologne and Werder Bremen are all dealing with second division clubs. Leipzig welcomes VfL Bochum, Cologne has to go to Jahn Regensburg. Bremen plays in its own stadium against SpVgg Greuther Fürth.
The round of 16 will be played on February 2 and 3, 2021. The quarter-finals will follow on March 2nd and 3rd. After the semi-finals on May 1st and 2nd, the final will take place in Berlin’s Olympic Stadium on May 13th. (sid / smk)
