1. FC Nürnberg as the only second division team in the quarterfinals of the cup

Previously, 1. FC Nürnberg was the only second division club to reach the round of the last eight teams. FC Union Berlin, VfB Stuttgart, SC Freiburg and Eintracht Frankfurt had previously progressed. The quarter-finals will be drawn on February 19.

BVB was relieved after winning the Revierderby. “That was the fight we expected,” said BVB sports director Sebastian Kehl on ZDF. The victory gives the team “a lot of self-confidence, we can be counted on”. Art shooter Can was also satisfied on the Sky TV channel: “We accepted the fight. Things weren’t always nice today. I think we did well.”

Can (45.+1 minute) after a bad pass from Bochum’s keeper Manuel Riemann and Marco Reus (70.) scored the goals for BVB, who have won all their games so far this year, in front of 26,000 spectators in the sold-out Ruhrstadion . “I didn’t hit him that well,” Can admitted afterwards.
