Deyverson defends Vinícius Jr. after case of racism and I regret swearing in football
On the way out to the break, the number 16 of Dourado supported the Brazilian striker from Real Madrid and condemned the acts of discrimination by the Valencia fans, during last Sunday’s confrontation for the Spanish Championship.
– I wanted to say something that has nothing to do with today’s game. Vini Jr went through a very difficult time in Spain. A lot of strength for him, may God bless him. He is having a great championship for Real Madrid. He’s a guy I have a lot of affection for. Racism is a very ugly thing, it doesn’t have to exist. A lot of strength to Vinícius Junior.
Before the ball rolled, Deyverson raised his fist in a gesture of solidarity for the Brazilian national team star.
The striker scored the goal for Dourado against the Minas Gerais team in the 36th minute of the first. With a header, he completed Fernando Sobral’s cross and scored for the first time in this Brasileirão.
The partial result takes Cuiabá out of the relegation zone. Follow the match in real time by clicking HERE.
discussion and applause
Also during the interview, Deyverson complained about the curses directed at him by Cruzeiro fans.
– First thank God for the goal. The guys (Cruzeiro fans) insulted me, these curses are very ugly, son of a bitch*, swear words are ugly. There are children here watching football.
After talking to the SporTV reporter, the attacker went towards the fence, talked to some fans of the home team and was applauded by his opponents (see the video below).
