The legendary music group Dewa 19 has been appointed as the ambassador for the three Gilis in Lombok, namely Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air. Marked by the installation of a typical Sasak headband.
The coronation was carried out on Friday (30/6/2023) at the NTB Governor’s Office. The installation of a typical Sasak headband, namely the broomstick, became symbolically a sign that the band led by Ahmad Dhani officially became ambassadors for the three Gilis of Lombok, which are a favorite destination for tourists.
In his speech, Dhani admitted that he was amazed by the natural panorama that the three dykes have. Dewa 19 will try to increase the quality and quantity of tourist visits to the three Gilis of Lombok.
“Frankly, I’ve been to this dyke twice. In my opinion, the dyke is a place with very nice landscapes,” said Dhani.
The man who is also a Gerindra Party politician does not deny that currently Bali is still the belle of visits by foreign tourists. However, Dhani said that one day Lombok’s three dykes would be on par with Bali.
“Maybe Bali is still the main destination for foreign tourists, but we are optimistic that one day the dykes will be able to match the visits of Balinese tourists,” he said.
“Because the landscape is so beautiful. From the dyke we can see the mountains in North Lombok. From North Lombok we can see a beautiful island, the beach is clear, so actually the potential is very big,” he added.
According to Dani, the three Gilis of Lombok are not only suitable as tourist destinations for young people, but also for family tourism.
“That’s why Dewa wants to help Gili,” he said.
In the same place, NTB Governor Zulkieflimansyah believes the presence of Dewa 19 as an ambassador will significantly increase the level of tourist visits.
“I am sure that with Dewa 19’s willingness to become the brand ambassador for Tiga Gili tourism, hopefully visitors coming there and NTB can increase,” said Zul.
