While Devolver Digital remains one of the leading independent publishers in gaming, the company has been gradually exploring new media opportunities for the games it represents. This includes going to Hollywood to work on bringing movie or series adaptations of their biggest games to life, which is exactly what Hotline Miami has been doing for a few years now .
There have been reports of a change to Hotline Miami for a while, but there didn’t seem to be anything substantial. So, to clear up some confusion, we spoke to Graeme Struthers, COO of Devolver Digital, to find out how the project is going.
Struthers said: ” So in the Hollywood world, a lot of projects are auctioned off and they’re being changed, but, I mean, it’s a world that I’m not very familiar with, but my understanding is that that’s what’s really going on. on that, people attach themselves to a project and then they try to take it to the studio to see if they want to continue it. But Cult of the Lamb is in the works, and the Hotline Miami script is still being developed somewhere in Hollywood, so we’ll see. Maybe Ryan Gosling wants to do that after all.
Long story short, it looks like we’ll have to wait a long time (probably forever) before we see Hotline Miami on the big or small screen, but on the bright side, Cult of the Lamb’s adaptation is still in the works, so the Today At least there is good news.
