Devils signs contracts with head coach and general manager

The National Hockey League (NHL) team of the New Jersey “Devils” has signed contracts with the general manager and head coach, the unit informs.

Tom Fijierald, 51, will take over the position of general manager, while Lindy Rafs, 60, will be appointed head coach.

For the past three seasons, Rafs has been an assistant head coach for the New York Rangers, but before that he was a co-driver for the Dallas Stars and Buffalo Sabers, as well as an assistant for the Florida Panthers. He has also been the head coach and assistant to the Canadian national team.

Meanwhile, Fijeralds has been with Devils since 2015. Until now, he has been the assistant general manager of the club and the general manager of the Albany / Binghemton Devils general manager.

In January of this year, the Devils dismissed Ray Sherero, but Fijerald became interim general manager. The club decided that the specialist would become a full-fledged performer of this position.

In December last year, the head coach John Hayes lost his job, and his duties were performed by Alain Nesredin after his dismissal.

Fijerald is the fifth general manager in the history of the club, and Rafs is the 19th head coach.
