Devils Organization Update: Goals, Comebacks, and Milestones

– Quick goals… it’s clear that it builds the confidence of the team; everyone wants to try to produce, change after change. This was our best all game, for 60 minutes. And for my part, I have regular chats with Lindy (Ruff, trainer) and I’m taking steps all the time.

Lindy Ruff confirms that the talks were productive.

– Small things in a match that make a big difference. We talk about puck management, when it’s the right time to do certain things and when it’s the right time not to do it. That he should understand what is good and what not to do.

Alexander Holtz is in his third year in the Devils organization. Last season there were four points (3+1) in 19 games. Holtz now has nine points (6+3) in 19 games.

The match against the Sabers also meant a comeback for team captain Nico Hischier, who missed a month and eleven games. Hischier came back with goals and assists:

– Great to have him back, Holtz thought. We have missed him. He is important to us both on the ice and in the dressing room.

Lindy Ruff agreed:

– Nico, we know what he means, how he plays against the opponents’ key players. And his offensive contributions … he’s missed when he’s not with the team, Ruff said.

The match also saw Jesper Bratt play until two goals. It was the 25-year-old Stockholmer’s 300th and 301st points in the NHL; Bratt has played for the Devils throughout his now seven-year NHL career.
